Legislator states that she's battle-tested and ready to lead on day one.
DARBY - Today, surrounded by more than 100 friends, family, and supporters at the Keya Graves Banquet Hall in Darby, Democrat Margo Davidson announced her candidacy for Pennsylvania's newly drawn 5th Congressional District.
The four-term state legislator has been a leader on women's issues at the State Capitol, chairing the Democratic Women's Caucus, sponsoring critical legislation on sexual harassment and assault, and being a leader in the #TimesUp movement.
"At a time when right-wing Trump Republicans are trying to gut social security and Medicare, roll back Obamacare, and cut funding from our schools, we need strong, progressive leaders who are willing to stand up to the Trump agenda and fight to defend our values. I'm running to be our next Congresswoman so I can protect our kids and our seniors, and expand opportunity for women and working families. I have been fighting and winning for our communities my whole life, I am battle tested and ready on day one" said Democrat Margo Davidson.
Rep. Margo Davidson was born and raised in Philadelphia by a single mother and is a graduate of our public schools. She graduated from Temple and earned her MBA at Saint Joseph's University. The State Representative for the 164th District is a former journalist and non-profit director. She's lived in Delaware County for 25 years, where she and her husband have raised their family.
