Margo Davidson Builds on Momentum from Campaign Kick-Off with Endorsements from Across the District and State
DARBY, PA - Representative Margo Davidson (D-164), a Democratic candidate in Pennsylvania's 5th Congressional District, received her first endorsements this week following her successful campaign kick-off last weekend. The endorsements come from all corners of the district and the state as Rep. Davidson has gained the support of Montgomery County Sheriff Sean Kilkenny, Rep. Maureen Madden (D-115), Darby Council President Darlene Hill, and Upper Darby Councilwoman Barbarann Keffer.
"As a prosecutor, an Army veteran, and now as Sheriff, I've been in some tough fights, and I know a real leader when I see one. Margo Davidson is tough, she's smart, and she's ready to stand up to Trump to fight for our communities in Congress. I'm proud to strongly endorse Democrat Margo Davidson to be our next Congresswoman," said Sheriff Kilkenny.
"Democrat Margo Davidson is a great advocate for her constituents and has been a warrior for women. Margo heads the Democratic Women's Caucus, is a leader in the Times Up movement, and always fights to make sure women's voices are heard in Harrisburg. I'm strongly supporting Margo for Congress because I know she'll take the fight to Washington and be the champion we need to stand up for Pennsylvania's families," said Rep. Madden.
Darby Council President Darlene Hill said, "I'm excited to endorse and support Democrat Margo Davidson for Congress. As a working mother raising her family here in Delaware County, Margo understands the issues impacting our families - from tackling gun violence to dealing with the opioid epidemic, to delivering for our schools and paid family leave, Margo is the woman who is best equipped to represent us in Congress, and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure we send her to Washington."
"Margo Davidson is a game-changer in Upper Darby - she has set new standards in community outreach, communication and service. As her record shows, Margounderstands the issues facing families in our new district and will bring her passion to fight for sensible gun policies, proper education funding and paid family leave. We have been working together for a decade now to make Upper Darby better for everybody and I am excited to endorse and support Margo in her Congressional race," said Councilwoman Keffer.
"I am so proud to have received the support from Sheriff Sean Kilkenny, Rep. Maureen Madden, Council President Darlene Hill, and Councilwoman Barbarann Keffer. They are all extremely dedicated to serving our community and making it a great place to live for all of us. Throughout my career, I have developed partnerships with leaders across our community, and I am proud of the positive changes we have created together. We desperately need progressive leadership in Washington as Trump Republicans attempt to restrict our access to healthcare and cut funding to our schools, and I am ready to fight for Pennsylvania families. As your next Congresswoman, I will continue to work hard to deliver for the hardworking people of Pennsylvania," said Rep. Davidson.
Rep. Davidson was born and raised in Philadelphia by a single mother and is a graduate of our public schools. She graduated from Temple University and earned her MBA from Saint Joseph's University. The State Representative for the 164th District is a former journalist and non-profit director. She has lived in Delaware County for 25 years, where she and her husband have raised their family. The new 5th Congressional District includes all of Delaware County, parts of South and Southwest Philadelphia, and part of Montgomery County.
